Legislative signal monitoring

Cut through the political noise.

Most of what fills the news is theater — statements, staged hearings, bills introduced to make a point. We watch for the few that are actually moving, and flag the moment one reaches your money, your rights, or your family.

Signal vs. noise

Theater is about attention. Signal is about process. This is the difference we watch for.

Noise

  • A bill introduced to make a point, with no hearing on the calendar
  • A prime-time mention that never reaches committee
  • Statements, press conferences and floor speeches
  • Sponsors with no leverage over whether it advances

Signal

  • A hearing gets scheduled — committees do not hear bills they intend to ignore
  • Co-sponsors pile on, especially across party lines
  • The text gets marked up line by line in committee
  • Leadership starts talking about floor time

How we filter

01
Did it move this week? A hearing, a markup, a floor vote. Movement is signal; noise stands still.
02
Is there leverage behind it? Committee chairs and leadership are what turn an idea into law.
03
Does it reach you? If it does not touch your money, your rights or your family, it is someone else’s signal.
